TerraTrade connects to Coinbase through a Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) API key. The connection is for crypto, uses auto-sync, and needs only view access. TerraTrade reads fills for your journal; it does not place trades.

Before you start#

Open the Coinbase Developer Platform in one tab and the TerraTrade Import Center in another. When Coinbase creates the key, keep both values available: TerraTrade asks for the complete API key name and the private key.

The API key name commonly has a path-like format such as organizations/…/apiKeys/…. The private key is the longer secret value. TerraTrade accepts both Coinbase's older EC private key and newer Ed25519 key, and handles private keys copied with escaped newlines.

Connect Coinbase step by step#

  1. Open the TerraTrade Import Center.
  2. Choose Coinbase, then select Continue.
  3. Keep Auto-sync selected. File import is not offered for this connection.
  4. Select Continue to reach Connect Coinbase.
  5. In Coinbase Developer Platform, create an API key with View access only.
  6. Copy the key's API key name into the matching TerraTrade field.
  7. Paste the Private key exactly as Coinbase provided it, including the full key content.
  8. Select Connect account.

TerraTrade checks the credential as part of connecting. When the completion screen says Coinbase connected, you can start an import immediately or choose Done. After that, auto-sync runs on a schedule and new fills land in the journal automatically.

If the connection does not work#

First confirm that you did not paste a display name in place of the full API key name. Then re-copy the private key without removing its header, footer, or line breaks. Finally, check that the key has View access.

Does TerraTrade need my Coinbase password?

No. This flow asks for a CDP API key name and private key, not your Coinbase password.

Can TerraTrade place Coinbase trades?

No. The Import Center instructs you to create a View-only key. TerraTrade reads fills for journaling and never places trades through this connection.

Which Coinbase activity imports through this connection?

Coinbase is listed as a crypto auto-sync integration. This connection is not presented as a stocks, options, futures, or file-import workflow.

Your journal writes posts like this about you.

Connect a broker and TerraTrade turns your own trades into the findings that matter.
