How to connect tastytrade to TerraTrade

Connect tastytrade to TerraTrade with a read-only OAuth grant, choose your accounts, and keep stocks, options, and crypto trades in sync.

TerraTrade connects to tastytrade with an OAuth application grant. You create the grant inside your own tastytrade account, give it read access, and paste two values into TerraTrade. Once connected, TerraTrade imports the account's stock, option, and crypto transactions and keeps the journal current automatically.

How to connect tastytrade#

  1. Open TerraTrade's Import Center, choose Add broker, select tastytrade, and choose Auto-sync.
  2. Sign in at my.tastytrade.com, then open Manage → My Profile → API.
  3. Create an OAuth application with the read scope. Copy its client secret when tastytrade shows it; the secret is only displayed once.
  4. Open Manage on that OAuth application, choose Create Grant, and copy the refresh token.
  5. Back in TerraTrade, paste the values into Client secret and Refresh token. If this is a certification-environment grant, enable the sandbox checkbox.
  6. Choose Continue. TerraTrade verifies the grant and lists the accounts it can access.
  7. Keep the accounts you want selected and choose Connect accounts. Each selection becomes a separate TerraTrade account with its own balance, trades, and pause control.
  8. Choose Import now to start the first backfill immediately, or let the scheduled sync pick it up.

The account picker selects every account returned by tastytrade initially. Clear or untick anything you do not want mixed into your review workflow before you finish.

What happens after setup#

The refresh token is designed for ongoing access, so this is normally a one-time connection. TerraTrade pulls transaction history, normalizes fills, matches them into trades, and sends the result through the same journal pipeline as every other integration. Re-importing does not create a second copy of the same broker transaction.

Why doesn't TerraTrade ask for my tastytrade password?

The current tastytrade API connection uses OAuth grants rather than a broker password session. You create and control the grant from tastytrade's API settings, then provide only the client secret and refresh token to TerraTrade.

Should I enable the sandbox checkbox?

Only when the grant was created in tastytrade's certification environment. Leave it off for a normal live tastytrade account; live and certification credentials are handled as separate environments.

Can I connect more than one tastytrade account?

Yes. After TerraTrade verifies the grant, it shows every account the grant can read. Select the ones you want, and TerraTrade creates a separate journal account for each selection.

Your journal writes posts like this about you.

Connect a broker and TerraTrade turns your own trades into the findings that matter.
