How to connect Robinhood to TerraTrade

Robinhood connects to TerraTrade with auto-sync, but the setup depends on what you trade. Stocks, options, and futures use your Robinhood sign-in and may require MFA. Crypto uses a separate read-only API-key exchange and never asks for your Robinhood password.

Start the Robinhood connection#

1. Open the TerraTrade Import Center and choose Add broker.
2. Select Robinhood, then choose Auto-sync.
3. Under What should we import?, select Stocks, Options, Futures, or Crypto.

TerraTrade creates a separate connection for each asset class. If a verified Robinhood sign-in is already connected, TerraTrade may offer Use this login → for another password-based asset class. An asset class already connected to that login is disabled, preventing a duplicate connection. Crypto still follows its separate API-key path.

Connect Robinhood stocks, options, or futures#

After selecting Stocks, Options, or Futures, the screen changes to Sign in to Robinhood.

1. Enter the required Broker email and Broker password fields.
2. Select Connect account.
3. Complete Robinhood verification if prompted. For push approval, open the Robinhood app and approve the sign-in. For SMS or email verification, enter the code and select Verify code. A fallback verification option appears when Robinhood provides one.
4. On Name this connection, enter an optional Account nickname or keep the suggested name.
5. Select Finish.

Once connected, auto-sync runs on a schedule. You can also start the first import immediately with Import now.

Connect Robinhood Crypto#

Robinhood Crypto does not use the password-and-MFA flow. TerraTrade generates an Ed25519 key pair, keeps the private half, and gives you the public half to register with Robinhood.

1. On Which Robinhood account?, enter the required Robinhood email and select Continue. This email only organizes the connection beside your other Robinhood accounts; TerraTrade does not send it to Robinhood on this flow.
2. On Create your Robinhood API key, open Robinhood → Account → Crypto → API keys and choose Add key.
3. Name the key TerraTrade.
4. Enable Read crypto accounts, Read crypto holdings, and Read crypto orders. Leave every trading permission off.
5. Copy Your public key from TerraTrade into Robinhood's Public Key field and create the key.
6. Copy the API key Robinhood returns into API key from Robinhood.
7. Select Connect account.

TerraTrade tests the API key against Robinhood before accepting it. The crypto connection can read the information needed for journaling but cannot submit an order.

After Robinhood is connected#

New fills import automatically on TerraTrade's schedule. In the Import Center, each asset-class connection has its own controls, import history, and sync status. If you later connect another password-based Robinhood asset class, reuse the saved verified login when offered to avoid another password and MFA step.

Why is the Robinhood Crypto setup different?

Robinhood's crypto API signs requests with a registered key pair. It does not accept the password-based connection used for Robinhood stocks, options, and futures, so TerraTrade guides you through a public-key and API-key exchange instead.

What happens if Robinhood asks for MFA?

Approve the sign-in in the Robinhood app, or enter the SMS or email code shown in the TerraTrade verification screen. TerraTrade continues only after Robinhood confirms the challenge.

Can I connect more than one Robinhood asset class?

Yes. Add each asset class as its own connection. A verified login can be reused for another available stocks, options, or futures connection. Crypto always uses its separate API-key flow.
