How to connect Kraken to TerraTrade

Connect Kraken to TerraTrade with a read-only API key so crypto fills auto-sync into your journal. Follow the exact permissions and fields.

The Kraken integration brings crypto fills into TerraTrade through auto-sync. It uses a Kraken API key pair rather than your account password. The important part is permission setup: a key can authenticate successfully but return no trade history if Query closed orders & trades is not enabled.

Create the Kraken key#

Go to Kraken's API settings and create a new key. Turn on exactly the read permissions TerraTrade's connection screen names:

  • Query Funds
  • Query closed orders & trades

Leave every trading permission off. TerraTrade reads fills and never places orders through this connection.

Connect Kraken step by step#

  1. Open the TerraTrade Import Center.
  2. Choose Kraken, then select Continue.
  3. Keep Auto-sync selected and select Continue again.
  4. In Connect Kraken, paste the public value into API key.
  5. Paste the secret value into Private key exactly as Kraken showed it.
  6. Select Connect account.

Once the completion screen says Kraken connected, choose to import now or finish with Done. Auto-sync then runs on a schedule, so new fills can land in the TerraTrade journal without repeated file uploads.

Fix an empty or rejected import#

If the account connects but no closed trades appear, check Query closed orders & trades first. Kraken starts a new key with permissions off, and Query Funds by itself is not enough to read closed trade history.

If the key is rejected, make sure the API key and private key came from the same newly created credential. Re-copy both without added spaces. When the private key has been lost, create a replacement key with the same two query permissions.

Does TerraTrade need a Kraken trading permission?

No. Leave every trading permission off. The two required permissions are Query Funds and Query closed orders & trades.

Why can a Kraken connection show no trades?

A key without Query closed orders & trades can still sign requests but cannot return the history TerraTrade needs. Edit or replace the key and enable that permission.

Can I recover a Kraken private key later?

Kraken shows it only when the key is created. If you did not save it, create a new API key pair and use that pair in TerraTrade.

Your journal writes posts like this about you.

Connect a broker and TerraTrade turns your own trades into the findings that matter.
